What's on Deck for 2011-2012?!?!

This year, the Girl Scout organization re-did all of the badge books but most won't be available until November.  So, we will be working on a Journey called "Agent of Change".  The girls will learn about the Power of One, The Power of Team, and the Power of Community and just how important their roles are in each to make a difference in all.  At the first meeting, we did a little research about Herstory (instead of History) and women who have made difference in someway.  Next meeting they will share who the researched with the group.  As we complete the Journey, we will be working towards the Bronze Award.  More to come on that.
Upcoming events -
Breast Cancer Awareness Walk - October 22nd
Cookie Sales - January 20th - February 5th
Cookie Booths - Saturdays in March
Locks of Love Donation- End of May/June

Mount Washington

As one of our service projects this year, the girls voted on doing a talent show at a Nursing Home.  They had also collected boxes of cookies for the residents and military members.  We were very happy to bring them cookies, candy from the Easter Egg Hunt and some very talented girls!

Computer problems

I am experiencing some computer problems.  The computer I mainly use for pictures is in need of a major re-load and I can not access internet on it currently.  Because my laptop doesn't have access to all my photos, the blogs I added today are short on pictures.  When I am able to, I will update the blog posts to add more pictures of our blog helpers.  Hopefully, it will be soon.

Happy Mother's Day to all the fabulous Mothers out there!

April 21st - Meeting Recap

Thursday, April 21st, we worked on 3 areas for the badges we will finish during our summer camp out.  The girls prepared for various weather, talked about emergencies that may happen and talked about things that are proper to pack and some that may not be.  There were very good conversations about items to pack or not to pack.  The list of what to pack is still in the works and will be emailed out towards the end of June/early July.
